Richard Twist
Director MEP & Acoustics
Richard has over 30 years experience in MEP&A across all market sectors. Initially trained in both Mechanical & Electrical services design and contract management at Delta Group Training and CA Sothers Ltd aged 17-22. By the age of 23 responsible for multi-million pound projects as an MEP contracts manager including some of the first McDonalds and David Lloyd Centres in the UK among many others across Residential, Retail, Industrial, Commercial and Healthcare projects.
Richard is the complete MEP&A package and has a keen interest in the science behind value engineering at concept stage across Electrical, Mechanical and Acoustic disciplines.
Following several years working for other large MEP consultancies (e.g. White Young Green) Richard then formed Richard Allen Consultants which morphed into JRA after several years now trading for over 20 years total.
Leading by example Richard encourages all to cross-train and gain a deeper interest and understanding of construction principles.
Jeff Hughes
Director Mechanical & Low Carbon Sustainability
Jeff has over 20 years of experience in building services engineering. He formed the company in 2010 as a Director.
His project expertise ranges from procurement, design, construction stage monitoring, and contract administration for various sectors including education, residential, healthcare, commercial, industrial, public sector, and leisure.
Jeff's depth of knowledge in building physics, sustainability, and energy efficiency is used to evaluate and drive design from concept to post-completion. He provides innovative and practical design solutions utilising the latest technologies and software to enhance both performance and economic value for clients.
Passionate about holistic and integrated design with multidisciplinary elements working together, Jeff is a CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant and Level 5 Energy Assessor.
As a Director, he firmly believes in supporting our team's continued improvement and talent growth.
Martin Bull
Associate Mechanical Director
Martin has over 18 years of experience in building services engineering. He joined the company in 2017 as an intermediate engineer, progressing swiftly through to Associate Director in 2022.
His project expertise ranges from procurement, design, construction stage monitoring, and contract administration for various sectors including education, residential, healthcare, commercial, industrial, public sector, and leisure.
Martin's depth of knowledge comes from a range of experience having worked in prior capacity for manufacturers, and contractors, undertaking both roles in contractor design departments, and roles of project management and seniority.
Past experience of both practical installation and research development means Martin has a keen eye for detail, and understands need for good design which suits clients budgets, and employers requirements.
Martin has a vast experience of project management and alongside of government lead funding streams, is able to guide and assist client in both M&E funding applications and contract administration.
As an Associate Director, he firmly believes in growth within hierarchy given his own journey, and is keen to develop our engineers.
Adam Bateman
Associate Electrical Director
Adam has over 20 years of experience in building services engineering consultancy. Adam joined the company in 2012 as an intermediate engineer, and has progressed to Associate Director role in 2022.
His project expertise ranges from procurement, design, construction stage monitoring, and contract administration for various sectors including education, defence, residential, healthcare, commercial, industrial, public sector, and leisure.
Adam’s design knowledge and expertise comes from a long background in electrical design consultancy roles.
Past experience of a vast array of project types with differing constraints means Adam understands the need for good design which suits clients budgets, and employers requirements.
Adam has extensive experience of project management and is well versed regarding different government funding streams. Adam is proactive in providing client advice / guidance for M&E funding applications and competent in contract administration duties on large scale projects.
As an Associate Director, he firmly believes in growth within hierarchy given his own journey, and is keen to develop our engineers.
Andrada Borcovici
Associate Mechanical Director & Low Carbon Sustainability
Andrada has a decade of experience across various sectors, specialising in sustainability, energy assessment, and low-carbon design. She has led projects from concept to construction and acted as both a lead engineer and project manager.
Spearheading the low-carbon and building physics department, she has extensive on-site experience, surveying buildings and proposing retrofit solutions. Andrada successfully implemented new software and sustainability report structures, driving sustainable measures and productivity within the company. She is proficient in IES VE, focusing on building efficiency and low-carbon solutions.
Having achieved her MCIBSE CEng at an early age it is a testament of the passion, dedication and attention to details which come with this distinction.
She is actively involved in developing the new generation of engineers within the company and the industry. As the current YEN West Midlands chair, she is working to provide the right skills and CPDs to the West Midlands young engineers.
Andrada's work has been instrumental in advancing sustainable design and energy efficiency, with a strong record of delivering successful projects on time and within budget.
Lisa Beaman
Strategic Business Development Manager
Lisa is an experienced Pre-Construction / Strategic Business Development individual, working within the core of the construction industry, with a demonstrated history of focusing in on major complex mechanical and electrical projects, adding value where others have yet to see the projects full potential.
She has a natural mentality and flare to engage with fellow construction teams to create the opportunity for winning work within all sectors. Focussed on people, relationships and collaboration and I have to say no 2 days are the same, however, they are always exciting and totally varied!
Fortunate enough, over the last 20yrs to have had the pleasure of securing / working on some stunning projects including Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, - New Stadium, The Royal Conservatoire, University of Birmingham Collaborative Teaching Laboratory & Phase I Molecular, MODA Living - Broad Street, Amazon 1msqft, University of Leicester - Freemans Common and Athletes Village for the Commonwealth Games. Aston Martin New HQ Silverstone, Birmingham Council House, Goldman Sachs.. to name just a few.
Simon Delicate
Principle Electrical Engineer
Simon has over 25 years of experience in building services engineering consultancy. Simon joined the company in 2024 as a Principle Electrical engineer.
Simon’s extensive knowledge and expertise comes from a varied background, initially starting in a contractor installation environment, Simon quickly developed his skills, benefiting from the experience only this practical learning route can provide. This experience is invaluable in assessing designs from an installation point of view from the project conception stage. His career progression led him to the role of contract manager, and this honed his skills in planning logistics and management, working in the building services sector. This enhanced his professional role, and he gained extensive further design development on several major projects. Having a desire to progress further he moved to a building services design consultancy. This new consultancy worked on local and nationwide schemes. A desire to move to further challenges, resulted in various internal career progression roles where his skills were further enhanced as part of a Senior Management Team.

Simon has extensive experience in all forms of contract procurement, project management and is well versed regarding different government funding streams. Nicola Nicklin
Accounts and Office Manager
Niki joined the team in 2020 and is a highly knowledgeable, motivated Accounts and Office Manager with good interpersonal skills,and has a strong work ethic.
She has over 30 years experience in Customer facing and Senior Administration roles and possesses many transferable skills. A multitasker, problem solver and team player, who builds mutually respectful relationships with clients and Colleagues at all levels and easily builds trust and rapport.
She supports the project Leads and the senior management with contracts, HR, all aspects of invoicing, reports, and correspondence.
She is involved with developing and maintaining Office policies and procedures, ISO certifications, procurement, training management, and enhancing organisational efficiency. She possesses Strong organisational skills and is very detail orientated and always eager to acquire new skills. Committed to fostering a productive and harmonious work environment.
Jon Olise
Mechanical Engineer
Jon has joined the team in 2022, after working within contractor design offices, which gains him vital experience of on the ground design.
His project expertise comes from a range of project sectors, with detailed knowledge in air-conditioning and ventilation design.
Having focussed his career in mechanical engineering, he holds both practical and educational experience for which provides him with necessary tools to give practical design guidance and advice in a consultancy environment.
Sally Onyemali
Sustainability and building physics consultant
Sally Onyemali our detailed and dedicated sustainability and building physics consultant. With a background in architecture and computer modelling, Sally plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of our projects. She holds a distinguished academic background in architecture followed by a master's degree in sustainability within the built environment. This dual qualification underscores her commitment to marrying architectural excellence with cutting-edge sustainable practices.
Sally’s journey in the field of building services is driven by a profound passion for sustainability. This passion goes beyond professional obligations; it's a personal commitment to contribute meaningfully to a greener and more sustainable future. She approaches each project with a mindset that prioritizes not only aesthetic and functional excellence but also a deep consideration for the environmental impact of the design.
With a keen eye on the future, she is well-versed in the latest zero-carbon regulations and emerging sustainability trends. Sally has extensive experience in conducting Elmhurst SAP calculations, a high level of expertise in Energy Modelling using IES, a key aspect of optimizing energy consumption and overall building performance.
With a history of successful project execution and a passion for staying at the forefront of industry advancements, Sally is an asset to our team. Her dedication to delivering high-quality results and fostering client satisfaction aligns seamlessly with the Company’s commitment to excellence.
Louis Morris
Acoustic Engineer
Louis has carried out studies within sound engineering, and combined with practical experience of this discipline, is a vital addition to our acoustic team.
He has led many acoustic designs, with particular attention to environmental acoustics. Louis has is able to carry out acoustic testing and recording of background noise levels, and can apply practical experience to acoustic detailing of both buildings and enclosures.
Louis has gained vast experience with heat pump enclosure design, and is well versed with EHO and EPO liaison.
Currently carrying out further acoustic studies on a part-time basis to enhance the company's acoustic knowledge and presence.
Junus Bugani
Mechanical Engineer
Junus is a junior engineer coming from a background of recently completing studies, followed up by a starting career in project management.
His design knowledge is quickly enhanced by his practical understanding of installations that he has beared witness of during his period of project management.
Junus’s intuitive nature of design is quickly developing him into an all round mechanical engineer, and is valued member of the team who we see moving through the hierarchy at pace.
Amy Brock
Administrator
Amy Brock joined our team as an Administrator in February 2022.
In her role she supplies administrative support to the Senior Management and our Engineering teams, liaising with external stakeholders, scheduling surveys, gathering data, preparing documents, as well as other core administrative tasks.
Working as part of the team she has gained valuable insight into the M&E sector and developed her personal and professional skills.
She resonates with our core values, providing diversity, teamwork, and innovation. Inspiring her dedication to the continued success and development of our team.
On the more personal side, she is a big animal lover and has two very spoiled cats at home.
Max Smith
Trainee Electrical Engineer
Max is currently training to be an electrical engineer and is in the process of completing a T Level at Kidderminster College with a particular focus on mastering AutoCAD.
His dedication to his learning is matched by his commitment to collaboration and, along with the rest of the team, he helps to foster a supportive and collaborative working environment at Syntegral.
